Una Rooi is one of just ten people left on earth who can speak the Bushman language, N/u, arguably the oldest on earth. When she and the other old N/u speakers die, their language will be silenced and a unique link to the natural world of the Kalahari will be broken.
This film tracks the harsh reality the last original Bushmen of South Africa face but is soon lifted by the wonderful character /Una. She makes a telephone call to a fellow N/u speaker 200 kilometres away and invites her to visit. What follows is /Una’s struggle to keep her language alive and to revive its ancient wisdom about nature, healing and the environment.
